Welcome to the Architectural Committee ("ArcCom") web page. ArcCom serves by appointment of your church board. Members of the committee are Betty C. (chair), Larry M., Kay H., Julia P., and Tim J. Jim K. and Shane S. are members in special advisory capacity. Board President Barbara B. and Reverend Nan White serve as ex officio members.
ArcCom's present assignment focuses on planning the future improvements to our new Sams Point Road property. Our task of the moment is to assemble a document that will guide our architect, Geddes D., in creating a conceptual campus plan for the three acres. In professional circles such a written document expressing the property owner's intentions is called an "Architectural Program". The document will also serve as a reference for church board and congregation as to what our original goals and agreements are around property improvements.
The document will incorporate congregational input as gathered over several weeks in late fall of 2010. It will also utilize data from a draft architectural program of September 2010, as well as updated membership growth projections.
ArcCom's corollary assignment is to serve the congregation by providing a free flow of information about future plans for the property. all of the links below are offered in that spirit. The links are in order of publication over the past several months, most recent at the top of the list.
Also in the spirit of a free flow of information, comments and questions from UUFB members and friends are invited. Email your comment or question, with your phone number, to any of the above listed committee members for a call back and conversation. Questions and comments of general interest may be included in upcoming articles.
