Unitarian Universalism

Rev. Nan L. White, ordained in 1991 as a Presbyterian minister, completed the process for full fellowship with the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association in 2008.  In 2000 she began serving the Statesboro UU fellowship as their once a month minister where she became convinced she had found her spiritual home with Unitarian Universalism.

She brings to Unitarian Universalism about 30 years experience in ministry where she holds a master degree in Religious Education and a Master of Divinity degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago.  She also received a years training in Pastoral Counseling and Clinical Pastoral Education.  In 2001 she was called as part-time minister to the formerly Unitarian Fellowship of Hilton Head Island, now known as the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Lowcountry in Bluffton, SC.

She worked with that congregation for five years, while at the same time beginning in 2002, she began serving the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Beaufort for ten hours a week.  Gradually over the years she has increased her responsibilities as minister and in 2007 was called to be the settled minister of the Unitarian Universalist Fellow of Beaufort.  She and her life partner, Sam Ballenger, are both licensed massage therapists and work out of their home where they live with Frasier, their beloved Jack Russell Terrier.   More…
